New TMS Products - PR/CR Enhanced Directory Integration Option
The capability to define and maintain a basic telephone directory is built into the PR/CR module. The fields available are BAC, Building #, Description (listing text – 40 characters), and Extensions (telephone # - 20 characters), plus overhead fields associated with the hierarchy of the directory. One or more telephone directories using this set of fields can be maintained using PR/CR and TSR/TC functions. If desired, the directory or directories can then be used to update corresponding directories in the TMS Electronic Directory (ELDIR) module or third-party directory assistance systems.
The functionality and ease-of-use of this capability has been greatly enhanced using the power of the Graphical User Interface with tree-type controls and pop-up menus. The enhanced directory listing maintenance functions are available during Circuit Master file maintenance, BAC Master file maintenance, and, of course, Directory Listings file maintenance. Also, the PR/CR Inquiry function provides read-only display of the tree structure for circuits and BACs. The directory listings can be updated through a TSR Work Order option (Enter Directory Updates), too.
This option is available for the GUI version of TMS only. It is a separately licensed option.
Below is a sample of the Directory Listings file maintenance.
From the main TMS main, select Plant Record/Cable Record >> Circuit & Cable Pair Files >> File Maintenance >> Directory Listings. In Change mode, click the Tree View button from the tool bar. The user may select Special Options >> Tree View from the menu bar, as an alternative. From the Tree View tab, use the tool bar buttons (or the items under Listing on the menu bar) to change, delete, insert or move a listing. The user can add, alphabetize, or re-sequence subordinate listings, too.
Use the fields in
the Search tab to locate a specific listing.
When the user selects a listing and an action, a window
displays the details of the listing, including the Telephone #,
Address, BAC, and Building #. The user can make the
necessary changes and save the information.
