The Plant Record/Cable Record (PR/CR) module maintains information on the use and service of telephone cables, cable-pairs, circuits, buildings, inventory, vendors, billing account codes and charges. The PR/CR module interfaces with the Telephone Service Request/Trouble Call (TSR/TC), Toll Call Message Accounting (TCMA), Image Management, and Electronic Directory (ELDIR) applications (when each is installed).
TSR/TC Interface
The Telephone Service Request/Trouble Call (TSR/TC) module and the Plant Record/Cable Record (PR/CR) module work closely together. Most PR/CR files are referenced by TSR/TC programs, and many PR/CR files are updated by TSR/TC programs.
TCMA Interface
The Toll Call Message Accounting (TCMA) module and the Plant Record/Cable Record (PR/CR) module interface is limited to toll call billing information. When TCMA transactions are generated, the PR/CR Circuit Master File is accessed to obtain a Billing Account Code. When some TCMA reports are printed, additional information is pulled from various PR/CR files. During end-of-month processing, summary toll call charges are stored in Circuit Master File records and Billing Account Code Master File records.
Image Management Interface
The Image Management module augments the Plant Record/Cable Record (PR/CR) module by providing graphical image access from the PR/CR Inquiry function. Certain fields in the PR/CR database are used to specify the image file to be displayed.
ELDIR Interface
The Electronic Directory (ELDIR) application and the Plant Record/Cable Record (PR/CR) module interface is limited to directory update transactions, generated by PR/CR and TSR/TC programs and optionally passed to ELDIR for directory updates.
