Troubles is a Windows-based application that resides on a network file server. Users create an icon for the application on their individual computers and invoke Troubles to submit telephone trouble reports by filling out a form. A user can also check the status of a previously submitted trouble report.
Access to the Troubles application can be restricted to a group of users through the network security functions.
Note that submitted trouble reports do not automatically create TMS trouble records. When a trouble report is submitted, the information is stored in a file in a particular directory/folder. The person or persons charged with entering trouble records into the system can then review each trouble report, and, if appropriate, create a TMS trouble record without re-keying the information. A trouble report can also be rejected.
Client PC's (i.e., those PC's where trouble reports are entered and submitted) require Windows 95 or higher, and network connectivity. The users must have proper network permissions.
PC's used to review submitted trouble reports, and to accept or reject them, require Windows 95 or higher and KCML for Windows 4.00.18 or higher, with TMS access. (Client PC's do not require KCML.
