A two-way link between K&R's
TMS and a telephone switch

The SI module provides a
two-way link between TMS and a telephone switch(s). TMS database extensions
are automatically synchronized daily (or more often) to the switch's "lines
database". During synchronization, line and set options/features and key
assignments are captured, along with group information for MADN, CPU,
intercom, speed call, hunt, ACD and UCD groups. The stored data can then be
referenced (off-line from the switch) by TMS users through a user-friendly
graphical query subsystem. Custom "keyset views," with key assignment
details, are available for popular business sets.

Authorized TMS users can query the switch real-time and update the switch
through the TMS work order subsystem. The desired task is selected from a
customized list that is based on work order type and user level. After a
task is selected, variable information is requested from the user. This data
is validated and then passed to the switch. Descriptive help information is
provided for each variable, and drop-down lists are used when possible. The
user can elect to process the command immediately and wait for a response,
or he can schedule the command for a future date and time. A log file tracks
activity if desired, and responses are saved for later research.
