ViaNet &
TCO ViaNet Training

Objective:

Course Options:

The ViaNet module is also linked to the Telephone Service Request/Trouble Calls application. It allows electronic submission of communications service requests. Once submitted the request can be automatically validated against certain Plant/Cable Records data, and if desired, entered as a work order without re-keying. (Rejected requests can be annotated with a brief explanation of the reason for the action.) The originator has the option to recall the original submission to check its status. Once accepted, work orders created through ViaNet are handled as normal service requests, with automatic updates to the Plant/Cable Records database, cost and man-hour capture for billing purposes. Training includes hands-on exercises designed to enable the student to install ViaNet, submit telephone service requests, check submission status, and either reject them or enter them directly into the Telephone Service Requests/Trouble Calls application without re-keying the information. Application validations and maintenance are also addressed through both lecture and a series of hands-on demonstrations and exercises.

The TCO ViaNet module adds a step in the electronic submission process. Individuals can submit a service request via the network. A senior TCO then has the opportunity to accept or reject the service request before it reaches the phone office, without rekeying the information.
